A buckwheat pillow can last for many years with the proper care.

How to take care of your buckwheat pillow:

  • Protect your pillow from the wear of daily use with a pillowcase.
  • Spot wash your pillow with a damp cloth. Let the pillow dry out in a sunny spot.
  • Keep your pillow dry and well aired. Moisture leads to buckwheat hull degradation.
  • Rejuvenate your pillow by adding new buckwheat hulls.
  • To store buckwheat pillows, place in a clean pillowcase and keep in a dry, well ventilated area.

Entire buckwheat pillows cannot be put into the washing machine or dryer.

Soaking buckwheat hulls with water will ruin them, so buckwheat pillows should not be put directly into the washing machine. However, you can empty all the buckwheat hulls from your pillow, and wash the cotton pillow casing on cold and hang it to dry. The buckwheat hulls can be set in the sun to disinfect. Adjust Your Buckwheat Pillow

Stomach Sleeper

Create a flatter pillow by removing hulls to keep your spine aligned.

Back Sleeper

Try the pillow as is. If your head and neck are being pushed forward, remove some hulls. If your head is tilted backwards, add some hulls.

Side Sleeper

Try the pillow as is. For most side sleepers, the addition of some hulls is often needed. Add 1 cup at a time until your head and neck feel comfortably supported.

Sleep Better supported

Buckwheat hulls (or sobakawa) make an ideal pillow filling as they hold their shape extremely well and do not compress and flatten, so your neck is properly supported throughout the night and your body is kept properly aligned.

Sleep Cool

No one likes to wake up in the middle of the night to flip their pillow around due to a sweaty head. The 3d shape of buckwheat hulls allow for air circulation so you can sleep cool all night long.

CERTIFIED ORGANIC BUCKWHEAT HULLS

ComfySleep pillows are filled with Ecocert certified organically grown buckwheat hulls from Canada. They are sieved and cleaned with forced air to remove all fragments and dust. They are not roasted, fumigated or treated in any way so you can sleep easy knowing that no pesticides or harmful chemicals were used to grow or clean the hulls used in our pillows.

COMFYWEAVE certified ORGANIC COTTON TWILL CASING

The ComfySleep is crafted from uniquely designed ComfyWeave cotton that is grown in the USA and certified organic by the Texas Department of Agriculture. This 10 oz cotton twill fabric is woven to our exact specifications to meet our high standards. certified Organic Cotton Pillowcase

Encase your pillow in a custom fitted pillowcase for a crisp and clean look. The Envelope style pillowcase keeps your buckwheat pillow tucked in neatly, and helps to retain the shape of your buckwheat hull pillow better while you sleep. Breathe easy knowing that the fabric touching your skin is made from organic cotton. *Not pre-shrunk, will shrink slightly after washing and drying. Bought for my son - his first buckwheat hull pillow - really like the neck support .

Great Pillow

I sleep in an adjustable bed set sort of like a recliner. I had a buckwheat hull neck roll pillow years ago but it was too small to serve as a regular pillow. This one does exactly what I need very nicely. Support under my neck with a bowl for my head and enough pillow to keep my head from sagging sideways. If I was to make any remotely negative comment I would say that the buckwheat hulls get warm. Minor issue.

Totally Happy with my New Pillow

Absolutely love my new pillow! I have been using buckwheat hull pillows for years (due to migraines) and mine needed to be replaced. I saw your company online, and it being Canadian and wanting to support small Canadian businesses, I decided to order my replacement pillow and I absolutely love it. Your website is well designed, great explanations with photos and I love that you add a bag of additional buckwheat hulls with the order. Thank you so much and wishing you continued success.

First time buyer

I've spent years flipping my various "cooling" pillows, trying to keep my head from overheating. I was aghast at spending close to $100. on a pillow, but decided to try a totally different material, as the fabric/fills of the others were only cool for about 10min. It took about a week to get used to the buckwheat, as you're not sinking into some level of softness, as with traditional pillow filling. I didn't notice any particular noise from the hulls, more the feel of them, which isn't unpleasant., and certainly there isn't any smell (which was kind of disappointing, I was looking forward to the nostalgic smell of grain!). I added the entirety of the extra buckwheat hulls, which I found made the pillow denser and more comfortable as I'm a side and occasionally back, sleeper. We've had a series of hot, humid days/nights, and my poor head hasn't gotten nearly as hot as it usually does, and much less sweaty. I did not get the made to fit pillow case, I'll use a needle and thread if I decide my regular sized pillow cases are too annoying. I went with ComfyComfy to support a Canadian small business that uses Canadian buckwheat. I could've chosen a cheaper version, but decided if I was going to spend what to me is a heckuva lot on a pillow, I was going to make sure the money stayed local. I'm pleased with that decision and I'm pleased with my pillow! I wonder how many acres of buckwheat it would take to make a mattress topper?!

Perfect gift

I give buckwheat pillows to my good friends that have had the misfortune of major surgery or injury, and they always appreciate it. There’s nothing like the support that a buckwheat positioning pillow can give.
